Why people keep calling back

We would rather show you what customers say than make promises about ourselves. Two things come up again and again in our reviews: we turn up when we said we would, and the price is the price.

He showed up promptly to give me a quote, and when we agreed to the price, he came right at the scheduled time for the work. Glass is sparkling and the interior sills were wiped down too.

Quite a few windows (high & low) on my one-story residence and all look better than they have in 20 years.
Wade M.
The lease space has 60' of 10' tall windows that probably have not been cleaned in years, some of which had extensive calcification on them. They all sparkle!

How it works

No sales visit, no package you have to sign up to, no pressure. Three steps.

1. You call

Tell us what needs doing — how many windows, whether you want screens and sills, whether the gutters need looking at while we are there. If it is something we do not do, we will say so rather than take the job and work it out later.

2. You get a price

The estimate is free and there is no obligation attached to it. You get the number before any work starts, so nothing on the invoice is a surprise. If the job turns out to be different from what was described, we talk to you before doing anything extra.

3. We do the work

Once you have agreed the price, we book a time and we turn up at it. That last part sounds like the bare minimum, and it is — but it is the thing customers mention most often in our reviews, which tells you something about the trade.

A local business, not a franchise

Windows By George has been working in Plano since 1987. That is 39 years on the same streets, in the same climate, dealing with the same glass problems.

Customers tend to say it better than we would:

I have known George for years and have used or recommended the washing service for years.
Dan H., FD Services

It means you are dealing with the business directly rather than a call centre booking a stranger into a slot — and it means we are still here next year when the pollen comes back.

North Texas is hard on glass. Spring pollen, summer dust, hard water off the sprinklers, and the calcification that comes with it. Cleaning windows here is not the same job it is somewhere with soft water and no pollen season, and after 39 years we know what actually shifts it.

Where we work

Plano is home. We also cover the surrounding Collin County towns:

Not on the list? Call and ask — if we cover you, we will tell you, and if we do not, we will say so.

Homes and businesses both

We work for homeowners and for businesses. Storefronts and offices that want a regular schedule, post-construction cleanups where the glass has never been touched, and multi-storey buildings that need proper access rather than a ladder and optimism.

When to book, and why it matters

Exterior cleaning in North Texas runs on a fairly predictable calendar, and working with it costs less than working against it.

Spring is pollen. It coats everything for weeks and it smears rather than rinsing off, so most homes want the windows done once it has finished falling rather than during. Spring is also when the storms arrive, which makes it the sensible time to have gutters cleared — blocked gutters send water down the walls and around the foundation instead of away from the house.

Summer is dust and hard water. Sprinklers that catch the glass leave mineral deposits, and those etch in over time. That is the damage worth heading off, because past a certain point it stops being dirt and starts being permanent.

Autumn is leaves in the gutters and the run-up to the holidays, which is when most people want the glass looking its best. It is the busiest stretch of the year, so booking ahead is worth doing.
